Guarantee - Sales Agreement

Your Labrador Retriever has been bred from temperamentally sound parents who have been certified to be free of hip dysplasia defects. Your puppy has been examined by a veterinarian and has been inoculated with the appropriate vaccinations. Stool checks have been done on at least one occasion, and the puppy has been treated if parasites were present. The breeder will advise you of any continuing treatment that may be required. You will be furnished with up to date health information on your puppy

GUARANTEE-.

It is understood that, at the time of sale, this puppy has been evaluated by the breeder with respect to other representatives of the breed at approximately the same age and has been determined to be structurally and temperamentally suited to be a companion, hunting, and/or Field trial dog. This does not necessarily imply that the dog is of breeding or Field Trial quality. This puppy is guaranteed to be healthy upon delivery to the buyer, and a full refund will be given for any puppy found to be unhealthy within 30 days of purchase, provided the following is met:

A veterinarian must examine the puppy within three days. If the puppy is found to be ill, the breeder is to be notified within 24 hours and a refund of the purchase price will follow the return of the puppy and all papers to the breeder, including a written statement from the attending veterinarian stating the dog's condition. During the remainder of the initial 30-day period, the buyer shall maintain the puppy's schedule of inoculations and shall initiate heartworm medication according to the schedule recommended by their veterinarian. The next set of puppy shots is due on_(see health papers)

We recommend that you discuss the type of medications that are appropriate to your locale with your Vet.

No other health guarantee is given except in the case of a hereditary defect which  develops to the extent that it renders the dog unsuitable as a pet within two years of the date of this sale. In this instance, a replacement will be given as soon as on is available, or a refund of 50% of the purchase price will be given at the breeder's option. If the dog has been bred or is over the age of 24 months this portion of the agreement is voided. It is not necessary to return the dog to the breeder or have the dog destroyed to collect on this agreement; however, the dog must be neutered or spayed with proof of same provided to the breeder in writing from your veterinarian.

 If the dog is used heavily for field trialing, Hunt tests, hunting, or any other strenuous activity (including "roading") prior to its being one year of age, environmentally induced dysplasia and other joint problems may develop. If these factors occur, it is left to the breeder's discretion to honor this agreement. The buyer should also educate himself to proper nutrition of the dog so as not to induce joint problems by either lack of nutrition or by causing an overweight condition in a developing dog.

RETURN AGREEMENT:

The buyer agrees that if he/she is unable to keep this Labrador Retriever, he/she will not sell, give away, or otherwise dispose of this dog without first contacting the breeder, who will either accept the dog on a return basis or assist the buyer in finding a suitable alternative home for the dog. This does not imply a financial commitment on the part of the breeder.

KENNEL NAME:

In order to easily recognize the dogs that are bred by Oak Alley Kennels, we require that the prefix OAK ALLEY be affixed to the names of all dogs that are bred and sold by our kennel. Generally we name all the puppies in a litter, commonly using a particular theme for the entire litter. We have used Raptors, Waterfowl and Songbirds. We find that this enables us to easily track the dogs that we sell as well as providing name recognition for the kennel. Should you have a compelling reason to attach another name such as a family name or favorite, we will sometimes make exceptions. The name must be preceded by OAK ALLEY. We have found that most people don't really care what the AKC registered name of the dog is, just their "call' name.

SALES AGREEMENT:

Terms and Conditions of sale: We require the agreed upon purchase price to be paid in full prior to shipping the dog, unless prior arrangements are made. We, on occasion will sell a dog on "the installment plan", however we prefer not to do this. All dogs sold under these conditions will only be sold to individuals who are either known to us or recommended by a fellow breeder that knows the individual. Individuals that we allow to buy a dog this way are required to pay at least 25% down with the balance to be paid in monthly installments, not to exceed six. If you purchase a puppy for 1000.00 dollars, minimum down would be 250.00 with a balance of 750.00 dollars @ 125.00 dollars per month. The buyer bears all risks in this contract, and death or disability of the dog, does not absolve the buyer from any remaining payments. Only after the purchase price is paid in full will the dog's litter registration or registration papers be sent to the new owner. The transfer date will reflect the date the sale is finalized, not the shipping date.

SHIPPING:

We ship Delta Airlines, Continental Airlines or Northwest Airlines (soon to be Delta). Bear in mind that the airlines have gotten very, very particular in regards to shipping live animals. They will NOT alter their temperature restrictions, which makes it impossible to ship from the South in the summer. Several times in the past, we have driven the 75 miles to the airport only to be told that they were not accepting animals due to the temperature. Shipping by air has gotten very expensive. Plan on spending 250.00 -300.00 dollars to get your puppy shipped. They will allow two puppies in the same crate, so if we have buyers in the same area, often they can ship both puppies together and split the shipping. Buyer is responsible for Shipping charges, as well as cost of crate. If you have a crate that is suitable, you may ship it to us and we will use it if it is feasible. We purchase crates at a good price from the local discount store, puppy size crates are approximately 45.00 dollars.

We will call or email times and flight numbers several days before we ship. We also recommend that you give us a telephone number where you can be reached on the morning the dog is shipped. This is in case we have a flight cancellation, and have to ship later on another flight. We also request that you give us a call when convenient to let us know that your dog arrived safely.
